PeepsLast updated 3 November 2026.
The short version: your tiny person lives on your device, and so does everything you tell them. The App Store version of Peeps has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it doesn't send Poplar Farm any information about you.
Your resident, your conversations and anything they remember are stored on your device. They aren't synced between devices, so each device has its own resident. You can clear conversations and memories, or reset everything, in the app's settings.
Replies are written by Apple's on-device language model. Your texts aren't sent to a cloud AI service or to Poplar Farm.
If you choose to allow it, the app uses your approximate location so the sky outside the house can match your local weather. The location is rounded to about city level, is only sent to Apple's WeatherKit service to fetch a forecast, and isn't stored or logged by the app. If you decline, the game works just the same with an estimated sky and guessed weather. You can change your mind at any time in Settings.
The App Store, WeatherKit and the on-device language model are provided by Apple, and Apple's Privacy Policy applies to them. If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers, Apple may also give us aggregated statistics and crash reports. These don't identify you to us.
Test builds can do one extra thing, and only if you say yes: you can share parts of your chats to help improve the game. This option needs iCloud, and it is never part of the App Store version.
TestFlight is run by Apple, which also shares some tester information with developers, such as the email address you were invited with, usage details, crash reports and any feedback you send.
If the app starts handling your information differently, we'll update this page first. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
